The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are among the fastest smartphones on the market, according to the results of a study conducted by a company that tests data speeds of mobile devices.
Ookla used the Speedtest app to collect data from the Galaxy S9 and iPhone X to determine which device is faster. By far, the Samsung model offers significantly higher download speeds.
Specifically, the Galaxy S9 outperformed the iPhone X by a 37% margin.
These numbers prove that Samsung has been focused on improving LTE speeds. Its latest flagships come with a CAT 18 LTE modem that can reach up to 1.2 Gbps.
As was logical, Samsung seized the opportunity to praise its devices as much as it could, given that their sales are not meeting its expectations.
“At Samsung, we are constantly innovating and developing products that set new standards for the industry. Galaxy owners don’t have to worry about whether they are getting the best possible experience from their phone,” said Justin Denison, Samsung’s Vice President of Marketing and Product.
Without demeaning all other devices from different manufacturers, the Galaxy S9 series is undoubtedly one of the best on the market. Samsung is expected to continue improving its devices and we will get the first results in the summer when it plans to release the new Galaxy Note.
