Google may add a new navigation bar to the upcoming Android P, which will bring support for gestures and copy the design of Apple 's iPhone X.Android

This feature was accidentally revealed in a blog post for Android developers, where the redesigned navigation buttons were revealed via a screenshot of an Android P device.

As shown in the image, the new bar no longer has the button that activated the multitasking function and the central button is now shaped like a "pill".

We don't yet know if this button functions simply as a button or as an identifier, where a swipe up gesture will activate multitasking, like on the iPhone X. The "back" button is still visible on the tab, but according to 9to5Google, it only appears when needed.

However, the navigation bar is still in testing, and Google has made other changes in the past without ever officially releasing them, so it's very possible that this is just a temporary test that may not make it into the final version of Android P.

But since the company now fully supports notch displays, like the iPhone X, a gesture-based tab would definitely make it easier for developers to use bezel-less displays in a better way.
