Google updates Gmail. It's now supported on iPhone X

Google recently introduced an update to Gmail for iOS , adding two important features for iPhone users: Support for the iPhone X and third-party email accounts.

iOS version 5.0.171119 introduces Gmail support for Apple's new iPhone X, which requires special screen modifications in order for apps to display properly.Gmail

Although Google initially seemed reluctant to immediately update its apps for the iPhone X, the company was quick to please its iPhone customers.

This feature is only rolling out for iOS users who are limited to IMAP accounts as the company plans to add support for third-party email accounts with its next updates.

Due to the size of the new screen and the notch at the top, the iPhone X requires apps to be specially optimized to display properly on its screen and use all the available space, which obviously takes time. The good news is that most major companies have already updated their apps or plan to do so soon.

The same happened with the iPhone 6 Plus since developers had to update their apps to look properly on the big screen, but the processes seem to be faster and more concise when it comes to Apple's anniversary model.
