Pixel 2: Has a second hidden processor. It will be activated soon

Google has integrated a co-processor into the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL phones that will significantly improve the quality of images .Pixel 2

Surprisingly, when Google announced its new phones, it didn't mention anything about the existence of the secret processor that will improve image quality. Let's not forget, of course, that according to previous tests, the camera of these phones is one of the best on the market.

The new technology is called Pixel Visual Core. Until now, companies have relied more on software, which is evident in the quality of the Pixel 2's photos. But apparently that's no longer enough, so they've also integrated a dedicated processor for HDR+.

Google is also a company that creates hardware with the aim of improving image quality. The key aspect of this new processor is that it is not going to replace the Snapdragon solution, but to complement it. A key advantage of the new processor is that it will use less battery power, a crucial asset of a smartphone.

The new technology seeks to allow devices to interpret what the camera is looking for and adjust images without the need for specific programming.

Of course, it's something that requires processing power, and that's exactly what's happening with the new Pixel Visual Core. The Pixel 2 already takes some fantastic photos, but with the help of the dedicated processor, they'll be even better.

Note that the new technology will be enabled in the coming weeks with the release of Android 8.1. Also, initially, it will only be available for HDR+ , but it will be enabled in all apps that rely on the Android camera API.
