Offensive Security announced today the release of the third rolling version of the penetration testing operating system, Kali Linux.
Kali Linux 2017.02 is the fourth Rolling (rolling) release (and the second of 2017) of Kali Linux and comes after several months of research and development. It brings the latest and largest penetration testing tools, as well as a new base synchronized with the software repositories of the stable release of the Debian GNU/Linux 9.0 “Stretch.”
The Kali Linux 2017.02 distribution provides, besides the most recent tool and operating system packages, an entirely new security feature.
Kali Linux 2017.2 is a roll-up with all the updates and fixes of the 2017.1 released in April. If you have already installed the operating system from the Kali 2017.1 ISO, open a terminal and run the command:
apt update && apt full-upgrade
Additional details about Kali Linux version 2.017.02 can be found in the release notes.
