While Apple finally added wireless charging to the iPhone X and 8, there was no mention of fast charging during the company's presentation. As it turns out, Apple decided not to mention it in the presentation for one simple reason: iPhone X

New iPhones support fast charging, but you'll need to buy a special adapter to use it.

9to5Mac first spotted the feature on Apple's official spec pages. The company lists all of its new phones as capable of charging to 50 percent from zero in 30 minutes. Paying $75 extra on a phone that costs $1,000 for such a basic feature seems a little unfair.

We don't know for sure what kind of cable comes with the iPhone X and 8, but the "in the box" specifications section doesn't mention a USB-C cable.

In contrast, Apple's MacBook and MacBook Pro are both said to feature USB-C, so the new iPhones are likely to come with the regular old USB-A cable.
