Windows 10 is moving up, but not Windows XP and 7

Windows 10 is growing rapidly, as according to NetMarketShare statistics, in July it experienced a market share increase of 0.83%.Windows 10
Of course, Windows 7 is still the leader with 48.91% while Windows 8.1 now comes third in the ranking with 6.48% mainly due to the dramatic drop recorded by Windows XP with a percentage of 6.10%.
Despite remaining the top choice, Windows 7 saw a decline last month from its previous 49.04% share, likely due to users upgrading to Windows 10.
In turn, Windows 10 benefited greatly from the release of the Creators Update, which is now available for all systems that support it. Therefore, Windows 10 is showing an increase from the 0.02 it held in June.
What is not particularly surprising is the results of Windows XP, whose decline is due to the recent ransomware attacks that hit it. Windows XP, if Microsoft had not released the required patches, could be in great danger, although according to experts, the main victim of the attacks was Windows 7.
Despite security updates, users' fear of a potential hack has led them to upgrade Windows XP to supported systems. However, Windows XP is significantly higher than in May 2017, when it was running on 5.66% of computers worldwide.
Windows 10 is likely to continue its rise in the coming months, and with a major release coming very soon, Windows 7 will see an even bigger drop. Of course, there are still many users who are not convinced of the capabilities of Microsoft's latest operating system.
