The Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update is here, but unfortunately, there are specific devices that can receive it as Microsoft is leaving out almost 40% of phones due to compatibility issues.
Ironically, many of the devices that receive the Creators Update were able to run previous versions as well, such as for example the Lumia 930 and 1520.
To get its customers out of the predicament, Microsoft decided today to release the Creators Update RTM to Release Preview for mobile, thus giving users who cannot install the latest build the opportunity to get the stable version.
Microsoft explained in a recent announcement that this approach to addressing the specific problem comes with some risks. Specifically, because the operating system is not supported, any bugs or issues will not be fixed.
‘As for the reasons why some phones cannot receive the Creators Update, Microsoft states that it is due to the unsatisfactory execution of the new operating system version on those specific devices.
«We examined the feedback from Windows Insiders and realized that we would not be able to provide the best possible experience to our customers who have certain older devices. This, on the other hand, helped us determine which devices support the Windows 10 Creators Update» Microsoft says, characteristic.
