Boyan Slat is only 22 years old, but his designs are worth millions of dollars. When he was 19, he figured out a way to create an Ocean Cleanup Array. This Ocean Cleanup Array is capable of removing approximately 7,250,000 tons of plastic from the oceans over the next five years.

The Ocean Cleanup array, a concept by Boyan Slat, consists of a moored network of floating barriers and platforms. These barriers and platforms can be shipped around the world.

This cleaning system could act as a giant funnel extending over a certain radius. The angle of the arms would force the plastics towards the platforms, where they would be separated from the natural plankton, filtered and stored for recycling.

Recently, many ocean cleanups foundations have emerged. Some of them are The Ocean Cleanup Foundation, Ocean Cleanup Array, Boyan Slat, etc.

Boyan's idea dates back to his school days. He started a project analyzing the size and quantity of plastic particles in the so-called "garbage patches" of the oceans. He also presented an entire report, for which he won several awards, including Best Technical Design 2012 at the Delft University of Technology. ocean cleanup project.

Boyan Slat continued to develop the idea and founded The Ocean Cleanup Foundation a few years ago. The Ocean Cleanup Foundation is a non-profit organization responsible for developing the proposed technologies. His solution could save hundreds of thousands of aquatic animals annually, as well as greatly reduce water pollutants.

In one estimate, it is predicted that the entire cleanup process will take about five years, and could significantly increase our awareness of the so-called plastic garbage patches in the oceans.
