Recently, leaked photos of the HTC U revealed several design details about the upcoming flagship. It seems that HTC has packed top-of-the-line components into the new device.
HTC's flagship phone, codenamed Ocean, will feature Edge Sensors, also known as Sense Touch technology. Essentially, this technology will allow users to slightly or strongly bend the sides of the phone to perform an action.
The new smartphone comes with multiple sensitivity settings to avoid mis-gestures. The Edge Sensors will help users launch Google Assistant, the camera, HTC Sense Companion, and the WiFi hotspot. Additionally, you will be able to access various apps on your phone faster, even when the screen is off.
Now for the camera, the HTC U features advanced HDR settings on the back of the camera including HDR+, Smart Video Zoom, 3D Audio and Hi-Res Recording tools. Additionally, it is claimed to come with 'real-time HDR scene detection', a feature that will be added to the top of the images.
The HTC U has 4 microphones for recording, as well as two recording modes, 3D Audio and Hi-Res recording option. 3D Audio offers surround sound in recordings. On top of that, the new phone comes with Multimedia BoomSound which is used in many high-end smartphones from HTC.
The HTC Ocean will feature a 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixels and Corning Glass Gorlla 5. It will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor with an octa-core CPU and Adreno 540 graphics processing unit. The RAM capacity will reach 4GB or 6GB while the internal storage will be 64GB or 128GB. The phone will draw power from a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and will also feature a fingerprint scanner integrated into the home button.
