HTC has finally decided to speed up the process and announced that pre-orders for the US have begun. General shipments are set for March 9.
Members of HTC Elevate, the private community that includes HTC's top fans and supporters, have the privilege of receiving the new smartphones already. On the other hand, customers who have ordered the HTC U Ultra from the company's website will have it in their hands on March 10.
The premium version of the new smartphone is priced at 709.55 euros for all color variants: blue, black and white. In India, its price reaches 900 dollars while in China it is 740. Japanese fans will be able to get the premium version of the HTC U Ultra very soon (March 10).
In the US, the HTC U Ultra is offered unlocked and is compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile, Alaska Communications and all LTE GSM carriers/services. Verizon and Sprint customers will not be able to use the unlocked version and it is still unclear whether they will get the special CDMA/LTE model.
The HTC U Ultra comes with impressive specs that justify its price. It features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 821 SoC processor and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
