As many of you know, Samsung has already released the Android 7.0 Nougat update for its Samsung S7 and S7 edge smartphones in many countries. Recently, the update was also made available for Galaxy S7 phones on Verizon, the last major carrier to offer updates to such smartphones.
Samsung said the update would reach the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge by the end of February, but that never happened. The giant, in its defense, said the update would be delayed as it wanted to review its quality.
Perhaps Samsung wants to fix all the possible bugs that may arise to make the update as user-friendly as possible. The company did not reveal when we should expect the new update, but it certainly won't be too long.
It should be noted that many manufacturers have delayed the Nougat update to their devices due to bugs, one of them being Sony, which has even completely stopped the Nougat update for Xperia devices and will probably reinstall it later.
The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have been around for two years now, and it's been claimed that the Nougat update will be the last update for these models. While Samsung will continue to release security updates for the two phones throughout 2017 and beyond, there won't be any new Android system software updates.
The Android 7.0 Nougat update is also expected to reach the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy A3, A8, and Galaxy Tab S2.
