Blackphone, the Swiss company that released a smartphone with encrypted communication, is designing a series of devices around the same idea, one of the company's co-founders said Monday.
“It’s not the only device we’re going to build,” Jon Callas said during an interview at the EXPO Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. “There will be other mobile devices with increased security and privacy.”
The Blackphone, which was unveiled at the event, will be available in June for $629. It looks like a standard Android smartphone and runs on a security-enhanced version of the operating system called “PrivatOS.” Standard features include secure calling and texting, encrypted file transfers, and video chat.
