Another Bitcoin exchange website shuts down after online theft

It's been a rough week for Bitcoin and it looks like it's getting worse. Shortly after the MtGox exchange closed, another Bitcoin trading site has stopped operating, although it insists it was temporarily shut down due to a theft.

On Wednesday, this message appeared to visitors to Crypto-Trade, a Bitcoin exchange website located in Hong Kong:

“We discovered a bug in our system that allowed someone to get around $30,000. All coins are safe and we will charge them to you, so you don’t lose out. Crypto-trade.com will be back up and running in 24-48 hours when trading will stop. You will be able to withdraw your coins, in dollars and euros. Once all funds have been refunded, the website will be closed for an indefinite period of time (2-3 weeks, estimated) in order to test our software and perform a security check. We hope to maintain your trust, every user will have their money back within the next few days.”
