A 14-year-old girl in the US was reportedly burned and taken to the hospital when an iPhone 5c caught fire in her pocket, according to reports from local site Portland Press Herald.
The girl, whose name has not been released, is suffering from second-degree burns to her leg and back when her iPhone 5c, which she had in the back pocket of her pants, caught fire while she was at school.
The site even publishes photos of the "burnt" iPhone, as well as statements from the girl's mother, who lives in Maine in New England, USA, and a representative from the school.
Apple has not yet commented on the incident, however, this is not the first time we have had reports of mobile phones "catching fire" (there have been similar reports in the past for models from Samsung and other companies) , although this is not a frequent phenomenon.
However, in most cases, these types of "accidents" result from defective (usually third-party) phone chargers while they are connected to the devices, but nothing similar happened in this case.
