Until now, we all thought that Hector Monsegur, aka Sabu, was the one who helped the FBI capture the LulzSec group. However, recently released documents suggest that there may have been two FBI collaborators.
The documents were released on January 8th by Anonymous and show FBI warrants related to the notorious hacktivist group.
The Daily Dot reports that the documents reveal the existence of two other informants, whom the FBI calls “CW-1” and “CW-2.”
One of them could be a hacker using the alias “M_nerva.” On June 21, 2011, the LulzSec group accused him of being unreliable. These informants are believed to have helped the FBI arrest Ryan Cleary, a LulzSec member from the United Kingdom.
Both CW-1 and CW-2 were arrested on June 29, 2011. Authorities arrested CW-1 on charges of credit card fraud.
