A seminar on Safe Browsing on the Internet was held today, Friday, November 29, by the Economic Police and Cybercrime Prosecution Service, at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Grevena.

The conference on the topic: "Rules for Safe Internet Browsing - Cyberbullying" aimed to raise awareness among citizens about internet safety and the dangers that surfing the internet poses.

The hall was packed with people, while the keynote speaker at the event was Brigadier General Mr. Sfakianakis, Deputy Director of the Economic Police and Economic Crime Prosecution Service.

The conference was also broadcast live by MEGA:

M. Sfakianakis emphasized that parents should not prohibit their children from using the internet, but should take all the necessary protective measures in order to limit its negative aspects and highlight its positive elements, which clearly outweigh them.

Regarding cyberbullying, the Brigadier General pointed out that 20,000 children every day around the world refuse to go to school due to cyberbullying. In our country, the action of the Greek Police to inform citizens about cyberbullying has reduced incidents of intra-school violence by 60%, while at the same time the creation of an anti-bullying center is planned with the aim of reducing the occurrence of bullying incidents in the school environment.
