GTK+ 3.16.1: Improves and fixes countless bugs

GTK
The GTK+ development team has announced the immediate availability for download of the first maintenance release of the 3.16 GUI toolkit for the GNOME 3.16 desktop environment.

There is one major improvement in the new version, and that is none other than providing better support for client-side decorations without a compositor. However, it is more than just a new release, as it presents a very significant number of bug fixes.

According to the first changelog, the new version of the widget toolkit resolves the issue with horizontal scrolling that does not use the scroll wheel and modifier key, fixes RadioMenuItem, removes useless queue_resize functions for Image , and speeds up cairoblur.

"There was a small API break in the return value of the ListBoxCreateWidgetFunc callback. Previously we could leak a full report and now we are providing it for free," they said in a statement.

Strikethrough colour and underline colour functions have been added to GtkTextTag. The has-tooltip has been fixed without being compressed and pixman errors will no longer appear when opening the Sound panel.
At the same time, countless other bugs were eliminated and translations were updated.

In addition to the above, the widget toolkit makes it easier to cut and paste advisory messages in the Inspector, the Scale has been fixed and no longer starts too far left if show-fill-level is already set, and a critical announcement in a11y is now displayed when the widget was destroyed.

ProgressBar now respects its style properties more and also fixes some other issues related to overshoot animation, new scrollbar, gtk3-demo'OpenGL Area' crash, as well as issues with BooleanCellAccesible & RadioButton . Also , it is now possible to disable libcanberra .

Finally, many of the translations have been updated and additional language translations have been added such as Greek, Basque, Catalan, Russian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Galician, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Hebrew, Korean, Italian, Spanish, Lithuanian, and Slovenian.
