It's official: Google I/O 2026 will take place from May 19 to 20.

Google I/O 2026: What to expect?
In an announcement Tuesday, Google said it will share “thelatest advances in artificial intelligence and product updates, from Gemini to Android and more” during the event. The event will take place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, in person. However, those who want to can also watch online.

Like previous years, Google I/O 2026 will feature keynotes from company leaders, panel discussions, product demos , and more. Google has yet to share its full schedule of sessions, but the company plans to kick off the event with a keynote on the morning of May 19.

On Google's website, there is also the possibility of interacting with the "save the date experience", which contains a series of mini-games created by the Gemini artificial intelligence .

Google announced a lot of AI-related news at last year's I/O, including the broader expansion of its feature AI Mode for Google Search and the launch of its Flow.

This year is set to be another AI-heavy event, as the company continues to expand Gemini, along with AI features across its search engine, Chrome, Workspace apps, and Pixel devices.
