After launching a social media platform, a line of sneakers, and NFTs, US President Donald Trumpmay now be targeting your mobile phone.

According to trademark filings seen by Bloomberg, DTTM Operations LLC — the company that manages Trump’s trademarks — has filed requests to use the names “ Trump ” and “ T1 ” on telecommunications-related services. In addition to wireless phone services , the applications also cover cell phones, cases, chargers and retail stores
While the Trump Organization has not made an official comment (it did not respond to Bloomberg’s request for comment), trademark attorney Josh Gerben said the applications are unusually specific and suggest that this is not just someone scribbling brand ideas on a napkin.

“ While a trademark application does not guarantee product launch, the accuracy of the applications shows serious intent ,” Gerben noted in a post last week

What might a Trump-branded mobile carrier look like? We imagine phones with the MAGA logo and the Truth Social app pre-installed. On a more serious note, if this venture does eventually materialize, it would mark a major shift for Trump's business interests, which have so far focused primarily on real estate and hotels.

To be clear, filing a trademark doesn't necessarily mean a product. Many companies trademark names for ideas that never materialize. However, considering Trump's ever-expanding business interests, a mobile phone network with his signature may no longer seem so far-fetched.
