Microsoft Edge: How to disable suggested searches?

Microsoft search Edge offers many features to improve the browsing experience for users. For example, it offers some suggestions to help with the search process. When you type a query on the web, additional possible searches related to your query appear below. Suggested searches can improve the browsing experience by saving typing time, since you can simply click on what you intended to search for. It also gives new search ideas. How to disable suggested searches in Microsoft Edge

  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select Privacy, search, and services on the left side.
  • Scroll down to the Services.
  • Select Address bar and search.
  • Select Search suggestions and filters.
  • Toggle the button next to Show me search and site suggestions using my typed characters.

By following the steps above, you will not see search suggestions when you type in the Microsoft Edge address bar.

How to clear Microsoft Edge search suggestions

Even if you turn off search suggestions in Microsoft Edge, you'll still get suggestions based on your history and favorites. If you want to avoid that too, history browser :

  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • Select the three dots in the upper right corner.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select Privacy, search, and services on the left side.
  • Scroll down to the Clear browsing data.
  • Select Choose what to clear.
  • From here, you can select the search history you want to delete by time range. You have the option to delete browsing data from the last hour, the last 24 hours, the last seven days, the last four weeks, or all time.
  • After selecting the ones you want to delete, tap Clear now.

Additionally, you can remove favorites if you don't want to see them in the search bar.

  • Select the three dots in the upper right corner of Microsoft Edge.
  • Select Favorites.
  • Right-click the favorite link you want to remove, and then select Delete.

While search suggestions can be useful for some users, others may find them annoying. By turning off search suggestions, you can reduce distractions and improve your browsing experience.
