Elon Musk announced that SpaceX is planning about five uncrewed Starship missionsthat will head to Mars in two years.
Earlier this month, the billionaire also said that the first Starship will be sent to Mars in 2026. Musk explained at the time that the first tests will be done without a crew to check the safety of landing on the red planet. Yesterday, he said that the timing of the first crewed mission will depend on the success of these uncrewed flights. If these landings do not encounter any problems, the space company will launch the flights crewed to Mars in four years. However, in case there are any issues, the missions will be postponed for another two years.

In June, a Starship rocket successfully returned from space and landed in the Indian Ocean, completing a full test mission on its fourth attempt.
Starship is made of stainless steel and is divided into two parts: a first-stage booster called the Super Heavy and a spacecraft known as the Starship. It is designed to be fully and quickly reusable across multiple missions. SpaceX plans to return the Super Heavy to its launch pad after each launch, allowing for quick inspection, repairs, and relaunch .Elon Musk's goal is to use Starship to send people and cargo to the moon and eventually to Mars.

In the next tests, SpaceX will try new things, including the first attempt to land the Super Heavy back on the launch pad.

Despite the potential challenges, SpaceX remains determined to move forward with its ambitious plans for Starship and beyond. With bold vision and unwavering determination, the company continues to pave the way for humanity's future in space.
