Sayonara Wild Hearts developer Simogo has announced a release date for its next game. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, a surreal mystery, was revealed during Nintendo on Wednesday.

When it was first announced in 2022, it proved to be a much more macabre experience than Sayonara Wild Hearts. You'll enter a mysterious, black-and-white mansion in central Europe, where you'll walk the halls as a laser-eyed woman (presumably Lorelei) to solve puzzles and identify patterns. Simogo and publisher Annapurna Interactive have kept a lot of secrets — and to fully understand that, you'll just have to start playing. It couldn't be more different from Sayonara Wild Hearts, aside from the female protagonist and dreamy, surreal art style, but it looks like it'll be no less exciting.

Wednesday's trailer gives us a taste of the mystery and curiosity, with a variety of different puzzles within its strange world. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is the Swedish studio's ninth game, following Sayonara Wild Hearts in 2019.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes releases on May 16th on Nintendo Switch and on Steam for Windows PC .
