Visitors to Epstein's Island Exposed via Data Broker

Nearly 200 devices belonging to people who visited the notorious “island of pedophile” Jeffrey Epstein in the years before his death left an invisible data trail leading to their homes and offices. Maps of those visits, created by an international data broker with ties to the defense industry, were discovered last week by WIRED. The documents document the trips of the wealthy and influential to the convicted sex offender’s island.

Data collected by Near Intelligence, a location data broker that has been accused of mismanagement and fraud, reveals with high accuracy the residences of many visitors to Little Saint James, a property in the United States Virgin Islandswhere Epstein is accused of harassing, abusing and trafficking women and girls.

Some girls, according to prosecutors, were only 14 years old. The former Attorney General of the United States Virgin Islands claimed that girls as young as 12 were trafficked to Epstein by those who belonged to his select social circle.

The coordinates collected by Near Intelligence and posted online pinpoint locations to within a few centimeters. The guests were tracked as they traveled from the Ritz-Carlton to the neighboring island of St. Thomas, a harbor that once belonged to Epstein and is home to an “impressive array” of pleasure boats and large yachts. The data tracked their movements as they transferred to Epstein’s harbor in Little St. James, revealing the precise routes they took to the island.

WIRED discovered several so-called Vista reports while reviewing Pinnacle’s publicly accessible code. While the specific URLs for the reports are difficult to find, Google’s web crawlers were able to locate at least two other publicly accessible Vista reports: one that geographically limits itself to the Westfield Mall in the Netherlands and one that targets Saipan-Ledo Park in El Paso, Texas.
