A few weeks ago, the EndeavourOS development team announced the creation of a new ARM distribution. Today, the system's creator Bryan Poerwoatmodjo (aka Bryanpwo) announced the availability of the new version

For those who don't know what ARM it's a processor architecture that's mainly used by portable devices like tablets and single-board devices. The new EndeavourOS distribution is lighter than desktop distributions, but it also comes with 8 different desktop environments: Xfce, LXqt, MATE, Cinnamon, GNOME, Budgie, KDE Plasma, and i3-WM.
Speaking about the compatibility of your new EndeavourOS we note that the distribution has been successfully installed on many devices, some of which are Raspberry Pi 4, Odroid N2 and XU4. Of course, the OS is also compatible with other platforms that use Arch Linux upstream.
However, in order to install the operating system on another device, it must meet the following requirements:
- It must be supported by Arch Linux ARM.
- Quad-core processor with a minimum speed of 1.5GHz.
- At least 2GB RAM memory.
- 2 x USB 3.0 ports.
- 1 Gbit Ethernet port.
As long as your device meets the above requirements, you can proceed with the installation of EndeavourOS, which is divided into two steps. In the first step, you will need to install the ArchLinux base, on which the operating system. The second step is to execute the scripts that will lead to the installation of the operating system.

It's important to note that in addition to the ARM version, Bryanpwo also announced an improved version for regular computers. The new version comes with updated applications such as Linux kernel 5.8.10, Mesa 20.1.8-1, Firefox 80.0.1-1, and calamares 3.2.26-7.
In addition to app improvements, the September release of EndeavourOS brings a refreshed desktop look, as well as updates to some of the themes. In addition, the welcome app has been significantly improved.
