Zoom: Outage prevents participation in meetings

Zoom users are currently unable to participate in meetings and seminars via the Zoom web client and WebSDK, with the outage not affecting users participating via the Zoom app.

An incident posted on Zoom's status page states that the company has "identified an issue that is causing users to be unable to join meetings and webinars via the web client and WebSDK."

According to some reports, users are seeing errors when trying to join Zoom meetings saying, “ connection has timed out and you cannot join the meeting. Verify your network connectivity and try again.”

“The cause of this issue is that our Web SDK servers are reaching maximum utilization,” a Zoom staff member explains. “We are adding more capacity and will let you know when the process.”

The same Zoom staff member says that Zoom is working on a fix after identifying the problem behind this outage of the Zoom web client.

In April, when Zoom experienced a similar outage, users reported being unable to use Zoom's web client or launch and watch webinars ,instead seeing "403 Forbidden" errors.

At the time, Zoom recommended installing the desktop client for participating in meetings and webinars, a tip that will also help resolve today's outage.
