Together We Can and the International Cybersecurity (CSI Institute) are joining forces and will conduct free seminars throughout Greece to teach seniors how to use the internet.
Yiannis Spanolios, head of All Together We Can, emphasized that the goal of the action is for senior citizens to participate in the seminars and understand exactly what the internet means and how it can function and be entertained, without remaining in the past.
Speaking to SKAI, the head of the Institute, Manolis Sfakianakis, stressed that by November 10, municipalities interested in participating must express their interest and make available at least one classroom with 35 seats and 35 computers. According to Mr. Sfakianakis, the action of All Together We Can aims to teach basic IT functions to senior citizens so that they can respond independently to daily activities that require knowledge of technology.
The entire action is carried out with the contribution of the Central Union of Municipalities and Communities (KEDE) and without financially burdening the participants.
Each training series will consist of two two-hour lessons per week for one month. Each trainee will receive a certificate of completion, as well as a manual with basic internet safety rules, which will be provided free of charge.
