Recently, the market for Linux computers has grown significantly. Even if many of the devices do not meet the daily needs of the user, many companies now provide products that run on one of the many Linux-based operating systems. However, the 3rd generation of the KDE Slimbook was recently announced, which not only meets all the needs of the public, but also offers many new features to Linux users.

The new Laptopis the latest result of the collaboration between KDE and Spanish company Slimbook. Thanks to the new Ryzen 4000 processor, the device is suitable not only for simple use, but also for processes such as Gaming, design, animation and 3D rendering.

The third generation of the KDE Slimbook comes with many changes both internally and externally. For example, the new device is even thinner and comes with an even cleaner look. Apart from that, the new KDE Slimbook also comes with two different screens of 14 and 15.6 inches. Of course, the device with the larger screen weighs 1.5 kilograms, compared to the other device, which weighs only 1.1 kilograms. Regardless of this, both devices have Full HD IPS LED screens, which can display an excellent image.

Moving on, we come to the most significant change of the Slimbook, which is the new AMD processor. While previous versions of the Slimbook were released with Intel, the new device contains the AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H, which has 8 cores and 16 threads.

Speaking of ports, the third generation offers a total of 3 USB ports instead of just one, as in previous devices. In addition, the new laptop also has a USB type-c port, HDMI port, and RJ45 in case you prefer a wired connection.

As we mentioned at the beginning, the laptop comes with a Linux-based operating system. In this case, the device uses KDE Neon, which is a modern and very lightweight operating system. Thanks to the KDE Plasma desktop, the system contains a very wide range of applications, which are already installed.

Although the exact release date is unknown, the KDE Slimbook is already available for preorder. More information about the product can be found here.
