Apple has long announced that it plans to release a new refreshed iPad Pro in the first half of 2020, but it hasn't quite figured out how to call it. In two new ads , Apple is making a "sly" and humorous reference to its past promises. For a long time, the Cupertino, California-based tech giant insisted that the iPad Pro is a computer . Then it began to backtrack on its claims, as the executive vice president of worldwide marketing , Phil Schiller , admitted that the iPad Pro will not replace the computer.
But now that Apple had the brilliant idea of adding a keyboard and trackpad to the latest iPad Pro, it has given a definitive – and enjoyable for many – answer to what had been said in the past.
Two new iPad Pro ads reveal that Apple may be self-destructive to some extent.
The first ad says the iPad Pro is the new computer, but it's not really a computer. It's faster than most laptops, according to Apple, but it lets users touch the screen and even make adjustments for augmented reality. That's something most people need these days.
Apple presents everything as perfect, in its own unique way.
The second ad, however, tries to “play with the audience’s emotions” a little more. It claims that the iPad Pro is a beginner’s guide to proper computing and ultimately ends up appealing to those who use a laptop on their lap.
A thin British voice from 1946 breaks down the basic guidelines for proper computer use, while business news from 2020 shows how they can disrupt the whole computing thing with their new device.
Finally, the iPad Pro is an attractive but extremely expensive device for some, given that the 12.9-inch version costs $349.
