This morning, March 16, Microsoft Teams experienced an outage. Specifically, it was down, causing many users, mainly in Europe, to be unable to access it for several hours. Microsoft employees announced that they encountered an issue, but they managed to mitigate it so that the platform could be reopened , after continuous user reports of problems.
For example, early this morning, the Microsoft 365 Status account tweeted that Microsoft was investigating functionality issues related to messaging on the Microsoft Teams platform. In addition, there are quite a few users reporting on Twitter that they are experiencing not only issues related to messaging , but also problems with adding guests to Microsoft Teams.
Also, at approximately 7 a.m., the Microsoft 365 Status reported in a related post that the problems that had occurred in the chat had been fixed. However, some users are still reporting outages and problems with the platform. Also, at 10:30 a.m., the same account noted that Microsoft has received reports that communication on the Microsoft Teams platform. For this reason, Microsoft is re-checking the reported problems and advising administrators to receive some updates in order to address the problems that exist in their admin centers.
Outages and other issues in Microsoft Teams must be addressed in a timely manner. Especially during this period when a large percentage of people are forced to work remotely due to the fear and concerns created by the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic , there is no room or time for further problems. At the same time, many Microsoft events that were expected to take place during this time will ultimately be held via video and the Internet . Therefore, all these circumstances further intensify the need for Microsoft Teams to operate normally and serve users and the interested public in general without outages and other unforeseen issues that can complicate their daily lives.
