During the Cyber Week held in Tel Aviv, government officials, experts and business leaders from around the world called for combating cyberattacks, stressing that the future war zone could be cyberspace.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech at the conference that concluded on Thursday that Israel had managed to prevent, mainly through cyberspace, about 50 major terrorist operations, which primarily came from the Islamic State (IS), in dozens of countries.

The event, which according to the organizers is held to exchange views, knowledge, methods and ideas on the topic of cybersecurity, was attended by more than 8,000 security experts, business representatives, government officials and others from more than 80 countries.

With the evolution of technology and artificial intelligence and the constantly modernized hacking that are being released, malicious actors are gaining enormous capabilities and weapons, making the battle in cyberspace increasingly dangerous and complex.

Darren Shou, vice president of strategy and research at Symantec, told Xinhua that one of the challenges companies face is ensuring AI to respect privacy and regulations.

Shou also spoke about the danger posed by increasingly intelligent malware. Computers operate on a vast scale, inconceivable to human capability. This technology, if misused, could be extremely dangerous.

Stevan Bernard, former executive vice president for Global Protection Services at Sony Pictures Entertainment, said that fighting major cyberattacks is a kind of war, and the company has hired many experts to win this critical battle.
