Google recently announced via Twitter that it will be releasing a new update to its core algorithm. The release, as reported, will take place today. In the announcement, Google also emphasized that, like most updates of this type, this one is likely to have no visible results, because the changes are mainly to improve search.
More generally, the improvements aimed at by these types of updatesconcern the way Google understands search, different pages, and the combination of them.
For now, there has been no hint about the use of the popular Penguin algorithm in the upcoming update. Last March, Gary Illyes, when asked about it, stated that there is a specific team working on optimizing the Penguin algorithm. Without, of course, this foreshadowing that the algorithm will be included in the June update. It could well be a simple statement about its evolution and nothing more.

Now all that's left to do is wait for the update. Many are wondering how the update will be done and if there is anything that users need to do.
Google has officially announced that there is nothing to fix. Updates can sometimes take up to ten days to roll out. It is also important to remember that this is a core algorithm update, not just a site quality update. Google updates are usually about relevance. Site is of course important but not the primary goal. So if you are trying to figure out why your site is no longer ranking well, don't try to figure out what to fix. Instead, it may be more useful to ask yourself why your site might no longer be visible to Google.
