Tinychat is a popular web -based chat application that has recently won several awards . Starting as a simple IRC chatroom application, Tinychat has steadily built its innovative platform, which now includes video chat and screensharing options , live video streaming, and Facebook Connect . Today, it is launching a new feature , Twitter chatrooms .
Twitter Chatrooms are custom Tinychat rooms intended for any Twitter user. Chatrooms can only be started by a legitimate Twitter. They are built from the Twitter API and use OAuth login.
Once you enable the Tinychat Twitter chat room for your account, you can invite others to join the conversation (by sending a link via email, Twitter, Facebook) and they can then log in with their Twitter credentials. Additionally, Tweets from users you follow will be streamed below the video chat.
Tinychat co-founder Michael Stern said the feature will be coming to Facebook. The feature could be an interesting option for celebrities who would be able to stream their videos to their Twitter fans.
TinyChat also recently released a version of Chatroulettecalled Tinychat Next. Like Chatroulette, you can join a chatroom with strangers and have video chats with random people. When you get bored with one person, you can simply move on to the next available user in the TinyChat “Lobby.”
