Instagram hacker forum hacked by other hackers

Hackers hacked the OGUSERS forum and published its database on another hacker forum, as the administration announced on the forum itself on Tuesday (I don't think you were confused).

OGUSERS, also known as OGU by its members, is a marketplace forum that apparently started trading “OG” usernames, such as: unique, short, and rare usernames, and is also known to be a forum for hackers who specialize in breaking into other people’s accounts, taking control, and then selling them for prices in excess of $5,000. Forum members have also engaged in a technique called “SIM swapping” to hijack people’s phone numbers.

“It appears that someone was able to hack the server via a custom plugin in the forum software and gain access to an old backup dating back to December 26, 2018,” the admin says. “I understand everyone’s frustration and I’m deeply sorry that this has happened so recently. You should realize that other sites like Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox, forums you’ve used in the past, and many others have also been hacked at least once. The scammers seem to be working 365 days a year,” the admin added.

Another hacker, using the alias Omnipotent, announced the hack on another forum called Raidforums. The stolen data includes OGUSERS usernames, MD5 hashed passwords, emails, IP addresses, source code, website data, and private messages.

“It’s like the area is on fire,” an OGUSERS member told Vice Motherboard. According to the member, people are leaving the area, worried that the authorities have their data and others that they will now lose their accounts.
