Remove.bg is a new free online service that you can use to automatically remove the background of your photos.
Manually removing the background from a photo is definitely the best option, but it takes skills and the right applications. A good image editor can do a great job, but many computer users don't have one, or don't know how to use it.
Remove.bg is a new service that is currently free. The service automates the background removal process.
How: Simply select the photo you want to edit, upload it, and click the download button once the editing is complete to download the edited photo to your system.
The processing time is relatively short, but it depends on the size of the image.
The online application Remove.bg removes the background of an image by trying to detect a person in the photo. The service can only detect people in the foreground, and cannot be used to remove the background from photos with objects.
Another limitation is that you can upload images up to 8 Megabytes.
Background removal works very well if the service accepts your photo. As long as the algorithm recognizes something in the photo that looks like a person, it goes ahead and processes the image.
We hope that future versions of the online application will remove the “there must be a person” restriction, so that they can also process photos with objects. This would make the online application much more useful and practical. This of course requires optimizations that will make the smart algorithm a bit smarter to recognize objects as well.
