User reports that his Google Pixel 3 XL caught fire

fireEver since Google launched its Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones in 2018, the two phones have been the subject of controversy several times and for many reasons. Another incident has been added to the list of problems. According to one user, a Google Pixel 3 XL recently caught fire.

The Pixel 3 XL owner (@Dysonborksphere) reported the incident via a post on Reddit. According to the post, the user left his smartphone charging and it started overheating.

To cool down the device, the user from Toronto wanted to take it off the charger (the temperature was -13 degrees). However, the overheating did not stop. Smoke began to come out of the smartphone, causing the device to stop working.

Eventually, the Google Pixel 3 XL turned red and caught fire.

It is recalled that this particular Google model was released in an attempt to replace the previous model, which also had overheating problems.

On the other hand, there is an opinion that the Google Pixel 3 XL was not necessarily to blame for the fire incident. The user tried to charge the device with the old Google Pixel charger, which could have played a role in the incident.

Google Support was made aware of the issue after seeing photos of the damaged Pixel 3 XL, and the team contacted the user and will be contacting them again soon to provide some explanations and resolve the situation.

We can only hope that Google will look into the issue and find a solution soon, so that something similar does not happen in the future.
