Microsoft is rumored to present the new Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 on October 2, so more and more details about the two devices are coming into the public eye.
Initially, it is worth noting that most of the upgrades to the two models will be made on the interior, since in terms of appearance, the new generations will be identical to their predecessors.
Despite rumors, USB-C will not be offered on the new models, as Microsoft is still not ready to embrace this feature.
Microsoft is also preparing for quite some time a black Surface, which may now see the light of publicity, without however having any additional information about it.
As mentioned earlier, most changes will be made internally. Specifically, the Surface Laptop 2 will be powered by a quad‑core SoC (1.6GHz clock 1.6 GHz, up to 3.6 GHz) Intel Core i5-8250U combined with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD storage – the 4GB RAM versions will no longer be available.
The Surface Pro 6, however, will also offer an Intel Core m3 processor option paired with 4GB of RAM. An Intel Core i7 chip option will also be offered, although there are no specific specifications for the generation, and users will be able to use up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Pricing is expected to be the same as that of the current generation.
