Dark themes seem to be the next big thing in UI design, and Microsoft itself is increasingly interested in launching such visual facelifts for its products. One of the apps to get a dark theme is none other than OneDrive, but contrary to what you might expect, this won't be happening in Windows 10.

As Neowin notes, the OneDrive dark theme will be released for macOS as part of a completely revamped client, almost aligned with the overall look of Mojave.
Surprisingly, Windows 10 doesn't come with a dark theme for OneDrive, and it's not yet clear when or if Microsoft plans to release such a feature for its own platform.
On Windows 10, OneDrive cannot yet receive such an update, mainly because it is a Win32 application, the sources say, although Microsoft has already demonstrated that this is not necessarily a setback.
File Explorer, the default file manager included in Windows 10, is getting a dark theme with the Windows 10 October 2018 Update.
OneDrive included with Windows 10 is offered as a backup solution to all users, with features like Files On Demand that ensure smooth browsing without unnecessary data downloads. The same feature was recently released to macOS, so Microsoft is bringing almost the same set of features to Apple's platform.
It will be interesting to see if Microsoft plans to bring a dark OneDrive theme to Windows 10, but this announcement may provoke more criticism from its own user community, given the growing support for rival platforms.
The same thing happened in previous years with Windows 10 Mobile, when Microsoft started investing more in Android and iOS than in its own mobile operating system.
