According to a leak from PCBuildersClub, Intel's latest 9th generation Coffee Lake Refresh processors are expected to arrive next month. Along with the release date, the rumors have also provided information on everything from their specifications to the upcoming release of Intel's processors including SKUs.
Developed to compete with AMD's 2nd generation Ryzen processors, the Coffee Refresh processors will be the first 8-core processors for mainstream PCs. Processors for high-end desktops (HEDT) and server CPUs are already available with more than 8 cores.
Rumor has it that the company will announce its new 9th generation processors for LGA 1151 platforms on August 1st. However, it is said that this will be the day when the processors and their specifications will be announced, but only a few pieces will be released. The launch of the full series may be a little later.
According to previous reports, three high-end CPUs belonging to this series are:
- Intel Core i9-9900K (8 cores/16 threads)
- Intel Core i7-9700K (6 cores/12 threads)
- Intel Core i5-9600K (6 cores/6 threads)
Anonymous sources have revealed that the processors will have “significantly higher speeds.” It has also been rumored that an additional 6-core processor with an Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS) has been installed, which can reach overclocking speeds of up to 5.5 GHz.
With August 1st just two weeks away, we don't have long until we officially see all the specifications of the 9th generation Intel Coffee Refresh CPU.
