Apple: "Do not install iOS 11.3 until a solution to the bug is found"

iOS 11.3 was an update that most iPhone were eagerly awaiting. A few days after its release, everything indicates that it is not one of Apple.

According to reports, iOS 11.3 breaks the MDM (Mobile Device Management) system that companies use to remotely update iPhones and iPads. Therefore, with the installation of iOS 11.3, businesses will not be able to remotely control their devices.

JAMF, one of Apple's largest MDM software providers, has acknowledged the bug and is recommending that companies delay upgrading until a fix is found.

"Organizations should not use MDM Software Update to upgrade devices to iOS 11.3 until we have the appropriate patch available," a company spokesperson said.

A solution is expected to be reached in the coming days, but we do not know any further details about it.

iOS 11.3 is a critical release of the operating system, as it introduces long-awaited battery health diagnostics features and gives users of older iPhones the ability to disable the feature that slowed down devices due to worn batteries.

Apple admitted to slowing down older iPhone models (including the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7) in an effort to prevent unexpected shutdowns. The decision sparked a wave of criticism worldwide, with a large percentage of customers taking the company to court.

It seems that the battery replacement program created for defective iPhones has failed to restore users' trust in Apple.
