Check battery performance with the new iOS 11.3 feature

Apple has released iOS 11.3, bringing with it a slew of new features and changes. One of the most notable changes is the addition of a feature that will allow users to check whether their device's battery needs maintenance or not.

This particular addition is part of the company's effort to regain the trust of its customers after the slowdown fiasco of some older iPhone models.

Let us recall that Apple , wanting to defend itself, had stated that this particular tactic was intended to avoid an unexpected shutdown as the devices could not cope with heavy use.

Many accused the company of deliberately slowing down devices to push consumers to buy newer models, a move that angered the public and sent Apple to court several times last year.

At that time, the giant launched a battery replacement program at significantly reduced prices and promised to create new features that would help users check the status of their battery.

This promise is becoming a reality with the release of iOS 11.3. Of course, Apple decided to play it safe by marking this feature as beta to first make sure everything works as it should.

To check the health of your battery, follow these steps:

Settings > Battery > Battery Health (Beta) > Maximum Capacity

The percentage in the Maximum Capacity field reveals the health of your battery. Depending on the maximum capacity range, you can determine whether or not you need to replace your battery. Apple advises that once its health drops below 80%, you should get a new one to avoid the mistakes of the past.

For your convenience, it has also added brief descriptions to each of the options in the new battery fields, so you will not have any difficulty using them.
