Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection Trial: Microsoft will release the next major update to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update on October 17, and one of the key security features for businesses will be Windows Defender's Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), which further strengthens the shield against cyberattacks with better detection.
Today, Microsoft officially announced a preview of Windows Defender ATP ahead of the official release of the Fall Creators Update, giving interested parties a chance to try it out to decide if it could be useful for their business.
The list of improvements that Windows Defender ATP has is huge, and it all starts with an improved console that combines security alerts from all Windows security features, including Windows Defender Antivirus, Windows Defender Firewall, SmartScreen, Device Guard, and Exploit Guard.
Schedules are created using event reports, allowing you to easily view every notification generated by your software.
The trial can last for up to 90 days without any limitations on the app's features, and Microsoft says that customers who want to take advantage of the enhanced protection should start testing to prepare for the final version that will come with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
