HMD Global is preparing to release the Nokia 8, a device that could be an Android alternative to Apple's iPhone 7 Plus, as it will feature a dual-camera system and powerful hardware such as the Snapdragon 835 chip.

A report by German website WinFuture has revealed more details about the upcoming Nokia 8, noting that the device could launch later this month. This means the new phone could be released in the next two weeks, although HMD could unveil it in early August.Nokia 8

The Nokia 8 is codenamed TA-1004 and is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the same chip used in the Samsung Galaxy S8 and OnePlus 5. This processor is currently the top chip for mobile devices, and HMD clearly wants to compete with the big names with its new model.

The device will feature 4GB of RAM, but there are also rumors that a 6GB RAM version will likely be released. The new Nokia 8 will have a default storage capacity of 64GB and will likely support microSD cards.

The device is said to feature a 5.3-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels (Gorilla Glass 5), and will likely come with a Zeiss dual-camera system, as HMD hopes to compete with the iPhone 7 Plus.

Rumors suggest that the Nokia 8 could cost from $600, and that it will come in 4 color shades: blue, steel, blue gold, and copper gold.
