Microsoft 's increased interest in Android and iOS has delighted many Windows Phone fans as many of the applications the company has recently released are not available on their own platforms.
The giant made it clear that Android and IOS are its priority as it wants all users to have access to its services regardless of the platform they use.
This of course doesn't mean that Microsoft isn't adopting a more aggressive tactic to conquer Android and iOS.
According to reports, the company has implemented a new tactic when Android users set up their Outlook.com accounts with their emails. Specifically, whenever an Android user activates Outlook.com through any Android email client, the company automatically sends an email to highlight the Android version of Outlook.
Microsoft relies heavily on the versions of Outlook for Android and iOS, which are based on an email client developed by Accompli, a company that Redmond bought two years ago and is constantly improving the applications so that they can also be installed on rival mobile platforms.
Therefore, by sending messages to users to update them on Outlook, the company hopes that more and more people will try its client since the informative email contains information specifically addressed to its users.
You may wonder if these emails are advertising. However, these messages can be removed within a second and are not at all annoying as they only appear once.
Of course, there are many users who do not agree with this tactic of Microsoft, but after all, Outlook is completely free.
