It seems that the mysterious reddish hue isn't the only issue facing the Samsung Galaxy S8. Many users are reporting that their brand new phones are rebooting on their own for no reason.
While it remains unclear what could be causing the glitch, it appears that the problem still exists on the Galaxy S8 and the slightly larger Galaxy S8+.
Owners who have identified the problem are writing about it on Reddit , the XDA Developers forums , as well as Samsung's US community page to complain about the issue.
According to user complaints, some Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices have rebooted at least five times within the first 10 hours of operation.
Some users believe that the problem may be due to a malfunctioning microSD card, and others report that the error persists even after removing the SD card.
A user claims that Samsung customer service recommended booting the S8 in safe mode, suggesting that abrupt reboots may be a result of issues related to third-party apps.
The Android Authority page states that, "it's not uncommon for smartphones to require a reboot or two right out of the box," but that's not what's happening in the cases listed on Reddit, XDA Developers, and Samsung's page.
Meanwhile, Samsung has already started rolling out software that supposedly fixes the red tint on the device's screen. So the South Korean company could later release a similar fix for the Samsung Galaxy S8 rebooting issue, if it turns out to be a software issue and not a hardware one.
