Microsoft today released Windows 10 build 16184 to Insiders enrolled in the Fast ring. The new build of Windows 10 for PCs is the third build of the upcoming Redstone 3. One of the biggest features is the release of My People, which was originally supposed to be released in the Creators Update.
But it finally released today with the new Redstone 3 build. My People displays all your favorite contacts on the taskbar for quick chats or file sharing.
"The technology aims to make it easier for you to connect with the people who matter most to you. Whether you want to share a photo, make dinner plans, or get a response from a friend or colleague, My People is here," Microsoft says.
My People currently only allows you to pin 3 people to the taskbar, but this limit could increase as the app's development continues.
Additionally, users can use multiple communication apps together and choose which person they want to see in the taskbar. So clicking on a specific contact icon always opens the communication app that you might normally use to contact your friend.
If you install a new build and want to start using “My People,” you must first update your Skype, Mail, and People apps. Once these latest versions of these apps are installed, click the “People” icon in the taskbar and go through the app configuration process.
