Facebook recently announced a slew of new features and tools coming to its Messenger platform for Android and iOS. The new Messenger 2.0 platform comes with the M assistant, chat extensions, and more.
Facebook has added third-party extensions and a new discovery tab to the Messenger app across platforms, giving users additional features and more capabilities to keep them inside the app and turn Messenger into an app for work as well.
The new changes Facebook has added include an app store for bots, appearing in the new Discovery tab. Featured and trending bots, as well as a new search bar integrated into the Discovery section, allowing users to browse Facebook bots and their usage.
Another change is chat, which allow developers to include their apps within Messenger chats. Spotify and OpenTable are two of the services that should be included, allowing users to share songs and reserve tables without having to leave the Messenger app. Apple Music will also get an extension for Facebook's Messenger app.
Facebook recently introduced its AI virtual assistant M and detailed features and tools that will allow users to get various suggestions and actions based on their needs. Now Facebook has properly introduced suggestions for M, including ordering food or accessing the payment service. In addition, the assistant M will recognize various tasks and provide more information about concerts and sports games in some areas.
