Opera 44 Browser: comes with support for Apple's new Touch Bar

Opera 44, which has been promoted to the beta channel, comes with support for Apple's new Touch Bar, which is exclusively available for the new generation MacBook Pro.

With Touch Bar support, the Opera browser can bring some of its key controls right to the keyboard on the new MacBook Pro, enhancing browsing, especially when working in full screen. When the browser is running in full screen mode, buttons like home, back, and tabs no longer appear, but thanks to Touch Bar support, users can get all of these options right on the keyboard.

Compared to Apple 's Safari , which apparently supports the Touch Bar already, Opera replaces webpage thumbnails with color-coded tabs, which should help users figure out which page is which easily.

Additionally, Opera 44 comes with a new Credential Management API, a feature that enhances security and gives users more control over usernames and passwords for the websites they load.

This version includes many known issues and is perfectly acceptable given that it is still in beta. For example, Mac users will get a darker tab bar, no search switcher in private browsing mode, and a broken animation in the bookmarks bar.

Of course, all of this is supposed to be fixed before the final version is released, but in the meantime you can download the Opera beta for Windows, Linux, and Mac using these links.
