Even giants like Google have failed once in their professional career, for example on Thursday night when a problem with Google accounts caused the automatic reset of Google WiFi and OnHub routers.
This malfunction obviously caused great inconvenience for those who rely on these devices, but fixing and restoring them was fairly easy although, in general, it requires a lot of work.
Google on its side announced that set ups will be needed. Although the software and the device's performance were not affected at all, a new configuration is required.
As expected, many users complained on social media about this situation given that the problem occurred during the day when most people were working.
Google has a special support page that essentially provides step-by-step instructions for restoring direct connection. According to the company, if you have set up your WiFi with the same network name and password, all connected home devices will automatically reconnect.
There is, of course, an alternative solution if you do not have time to recreate your devices, but it requires internet access. You can connect to the WiFi network using the network name and the password listed in your device's database.
Google Wifi has received pretty good reviews since its launch (three months ago) and users seem to be enjoying it so far. So we don't know how they will react to the bug, but sometimes it's understandable that these things happen.
