If you own an iPhone and frequently use the Chromecast streaming dongle, you can now thank Google, as it has finally decided to make your life a little easier than before by adding this feature.
Users no longer need to be forced to unlock iPhones (or iPads, for that matter) every time they want to fast forward or rewind the YouTube video they're watching from the comfort of their TV.
The welcome feature comes as part of an update Google rolled out to YouTube on Thursday.
Google, thankfully, isn't limiting this new feature to just its Chromecast. It says that users who want to control YouTube video playback on smart TVs and other devices, like game consoles, can now do so from the lock screen.
With the new update, Google is also allowing access to YouTube controls on a paired Apple Watch. Android have long been able to control everything from the lock screen, and of course, it was one of the most requested features by iPhone users from Apple.
Google also updated its Chrome iPhone app to introduce QR scanning capability.
